Vélez de Benaudalla, its name comes from Arabic Ballis Banu 'Abd-Allah which means Valley of the Son of the Servant of God, is located between the coast of Granada, Lecrin Valley and Alpujarras 50 km from Granada city and 15 Motril. Its population is about 2,700 inhabitants. Set in a radial network of roads, highways and has regular service intercity buses and taxis.

Coming from Malaga and Almeria on the N-340, take the turnoff to Granada on the N-321 and 10 kmts. at the junction after the village.
